Privacy

GoldenKube collects as little as it needs to run practice sessions. This page lists exactly what is stored today.

Last reviewed 2026-10-23

What is stored today

  • An anonymous learner id, stored in a cookie named gkp_uid. It is a random value; it does not contain your name or email.
  • Your answers and study progress (which questions you answered, whether you were right, when a question is due for review), stored in a Cloudflare D1 database and linked to that anonymous id.
  • If you create an account: your email address, your name, and a password hash (never the password itself) for email and password accounts. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, the link to that provider account and the tokens it returns are stored with your account. Email is used only to send verification and password reset messages.
  • If you create an account: sign-in sessions, each with its creation and expiry time, the IP address and the browser user agent it was created from. A short-lived verification record is stored while an email verification or password reset is pending.
  • Sign-in, sign-up and password reset forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated abuse; Cloudflare processes the challenge. Request counts per client are kept briefly for rate limiting.
  • Standard infrastructure logs kept by Cloudflare, which hosts the site (for example IP address and request details), as part of operating the service.

What is not collected

  • Google Analytics 4 (property G-XTD3Q3HGNR) measures aggregate page views and product events on goldenkube.dev only; advertising features and ad personalisation signals are turned off. It is not loaded on preview or development hosts.
  • No plain-text passwords and no payment details: GoldenKube has no paid tier.

How long data is kept

Progress is kept so your review schedule keeps working. It stays until you delete it. Infrastructure logs follow Cloudflare's own retention.

Deleting your data

Open Settings and choose Reset everything to delete your progress. Clearing the gkp_uid cookie disconnects this browser from the stored progress. If you have an account, you can delete it from Settings: this removes your study data and your account record.
