Scenario cka-wkl-003 · about 8 minutes · 6 points · 8 grader checks

What you will practise

  • Create a ConfigMap and a Secret from literals
  • Inject a ConfigMap key as an environment variable
  • Mount a Secret as a volume

Start this lab

With the CLI installed and signed in, this command provisions a single node cluster on your Mac, applies the scenario setup and prints the task below.

goldenkube start cka-wkl-003

Task

The task text exactly as the CLI shows it. Solve it on the cluster, then run goldenkube submit.

In namespace "apps" (create it if missing): 1. Create a ConfigMap "app-config" with key APP_MODE=prod. 2. Create a Secret "app-secret" with key API_KEY=s3cr3t. 3. Create a Pod "configured" using image nginx:1.27 that - exposes APP_MODE as an environment variable named APP_MODE taken from the ConfigMap "app-config", and - mounts the Secret "app-secret" as a volume at /etc/secret. The Pod must be Running.

Grading runs locally: 8 state checks read your cluster when you submit; the scenario passes when every check passes. Hints, the reference solution and the check definitions are available only inside the CLI, not on this page.
